Welcome to the new website for the charity, ‘Access to Community Education’ known as ACE.

We have moved from Brixham College to the South Devon College, Centre for Health and Care Professions in Torquay.

ACE is a friendly group that provides educational and recreational activities to improve the lives of disabled people and to provide respite time for carers.

Our current activities are swimming, the Thursday Group, the Write Way, drawing and painting, sports mobility and music.

We aim to prevent loneliness, possible depression and boredom by providing interesting activities, friendship, fun and support.

With the support of SDC, we employ part time staff: an administrator, five tutors and three care workers.

Annually we elect eight trustees from our members and volunteers, who with the administrator, manage the charity.

Each year we organise trips to places of interest chosen by the members and volunteers for example: Buckfast Abbey, Dartmouth Steam Railway, Totnes Rare Breeds Farm and Plymouth Aquarium.

ACE members receive courses at discount rates and a subsidised taxi service.
